It is the most common disorder of the central nervous system and can vary in onset from early childhood to late adulthood. It affects approximately 1% of the general population. This group is hosted by the Epilepsy Foundation of Western / Central Pennsylvania.

CPR (Basic Life Support) Heatlhcare Provider
This course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the skills of one and two rescuer CPR/AED for the Adult, Child and Infant in accordance with the American Heart Association guidelines.  The course is intended for physicians, nurses, paramedics and any medical professionals who require CPR.  There is a written and skill test that must be passed in order to receive a completion card.  Student manuals for the class may be ordered at www.laerdal.com and use item #15-1010.

According to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the most common cause of death in the United States resulting in more than 300,000 deaths annually.  Sudden cardiac arrest is also the leading cause of sudden death in young athletes accounting for approximately 75% of all cases.  Conemaugh Health System would like to bring awareness to this silent syndrome by educating practitioners on the epidemiology of Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD), current screening tools, therapies and prevention measures.  Join us at the beautiful OMNI Bedford Springs for what promises to be a worthwhile educational experience.
