REGISTRATION CLOSES 7 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. No Onsite registration permitted.

The Paramedic Refresher Program is a 6-module course based on the 2009 EMS Education Standards. Completion of this program satisfies the NREMT Refresher Requirements under Section 1A and 1B and this course will meet the NREMT Paramedic Transition Requirement.

 

All classes 0800-1700.

January 2, 2016 Module I: Airway / Ventilation      February 13, 2016 Module IV: Trauma

January 16, 2016 Module II: Cardiovascular          February 27, 2016 Module V: Pediatrics

January 30, 2016 Module III: Medical                     March 12, 2016 Module VI: Operations

• This is broadcast via webinar live from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Education Building, Room F301 over the internet to your computer.

• The webinar is limited to 100 participants. Participants may attend the program live at Conemaugh or via Webinar.

• If you and members of your station or other paramedics choose to meet at one location and utilize a projector, you must have someone who is responsible to verify that each individual at the site is present and accounted for throughout the course. If you are going to host or be with a group of participants, please be sure to notify the school when you register.

Online Basic Trauma Nurse Course


BASIC TRAUMA NURSE COURSE

Online Learning

This course fulfills the didactic portion of the PTSF requirements for nurses caring for trauma patients.

This independent study is designed to introduce learners to the basic concepts of Trauma Nursing.  The focus of the course is exploration of the major perception and conceptual issues underlying the specialty of Trauma Nursing.

Modules include:     

  • Pain Management

  • Pre-hospital

  • Shock

  • Resuscitative Phase

  • Head Trauma

  • Spinal Cord Injury

  • Genitourinary Trauma

  • Prevention Strategies

  • Abdominal Trauma

  • Rehabilitation

Epilepsy Support Group

Epilepsy is a chronic or life-long neurological condition involving recurrent, unprovoked seizures. It is the most common disorder of the central nervous system and can vary in onset from early childhood to late adulthood. It affects approximately 1% of the general population. This group is hosted by the Epilepsy Foundation of Western / Central Pennsylvania.
